Steampunkiest Cover I Ever Did See

This was just so deserving of a post. I have been meaning to have a good blether about it for weeks and I have Just got round to it now.

So here goes.

Does this yell STEAMPUNK! Or does this yell STEAMPUNK....

Steampunk-ie or what guys!

And this is so wasted! Want to know why? Because it isn't even a book cover, it is a CD cover.

See, it is the first CD from a band called Halestorm. But jazzy cover though ;)

Review - Brother/Sister by Sean Olin

Will and Asheley have a troubled past. Their father left them when they were little, and their mother has just been carted off to an alcohol treatment center. Now, they have the house to themselves, and an endless California summer stretching out before them. Through alternating perspectives, they tell the story of how and why their lives spun violently out of control - right up to the impossibly shocking conclusion you'll have to read for yourself to believe.

So, I got this to read for FREE from my local bookstore. It was a PROOF copy! Yay! Happy times.

So moving on from where this came from as it is the first time I am reviewing something that isn't mine :).

I will say that although the title more than hints a little at the idea of incest...there isnt actually much on that front. Will and Asheley ARE close, maybe closer than is healthy and there is bits that hint at some DEEP feelings from Will but there is nothing R/18 or whatever rated. (But maybe some stuff that will make you uncomfortable reading).

OK warnings over, on with the post.

This book totally screwed with my mind. Really. I am not into this kind of book, usually I avoid them like the plague but it was for free (who am I to kick lady luck in the teeth – exactly :)).

Like I said this book totally messes with you, it sets you up to believe one thing and then at the end goes and throws a wrench into the work that makes you questions if everything that you read beforehand was real or at least true.

Asheley and Will are a brother and sister who have been left to raise themselves after their father disappeared and their mother is drunk or in rehab half the time. Will is very protective of Asheley, seeing her as perfect and as someone who I unable to look after herself. And his protective instincts take a deadly turn as their life spirals out of control.

This book deals with some very touchy issues such as drug use, drinking (underage and otherwise), and just how much can you love a person before it brinks on obsession.

The book is told in first person from the altering views of Asheley and Will (1 chapter Will, 1 chapter Asheley etc). Their accounts stay consistent with each other until their stories start to fray at the edge and slight differences begin to show.

Is one of them lying, or is their elaborate plan falling apart?

You tell me.

Cover Crazy about Luthiel's Song

I think I  must be trying to subconsciously catch up on all of the blogging I have been missing or somehing, because this is going to be what the 4th post in one day. Woohoo go me!

So, Cover Crazy is a meme that can be found over at The Book Worms so have a wee meander over there and check it out if you so wish :)

And as the name suggests, it is a chance to go crazy over a cover!

(Well...covers in my case)

Ya'll know about my love of EPIC! book covers and the Luthiel's Song series by Robert Fanney? Yes? So I thought I would gush unashamedly over the gorgeously gorgeous cover art for these books.

Book 1

See the wolf to the left! I was so happy when I read the book, looked at the cover and went 'I know who you are!' hehe. Easy to please.

Book 2

As you can probably tell this cover was drawn by a different artist. And although I LOVED the first cover this one has an edge to it that comes with the book. What with her standing there with a sword in her hand :)

And Book 3. This book has not been released yet (hopefully it will be by the end of the year) but we do have the cover art to tease us.

Does that look EPIC, or does that look EPIC! *squeal* can't wait!

Snow White and the Huntsmen

Anyone else TOTALLY excited about this film coming out?!

Anyone?

Well I am.

*Skips around the room singing*

I am not too sure about the Kristin Stewart decision but who knows. It looks mega cool. I am hoping that the 'Snow White and the Huntsmen' thing is some kind of sign. You know, a sign that she will maybe...I don't know chose him instead of the prince. I am all for that. But then the Disney version was called Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and we didn't get Snow White getting together with Dopie so nothing may come of it. But I am crossing my fingers for this one.

*fingers crossed and wishes REALLY hard*

So picture time.

Oooooo interesting don't ya think?

But are the little grey cells dancing in anyone elses head?

Hmm....is that allowed.

Anyway moving onto the prince.

Okaaaaaaay...I really don't know what to think. I don't think I like him, but then it isn't exactly a brilliant photo. But he just seems too boy-ey...and he also reminds me of someone else.

Anyone else see a resemblance.

Yip, I could quite happily see Snow White and the Huntsmen together. I hope he doesn't die or something silly...

I can't wait for this to come out.

*skips off*

An Idiot Abroad by Karl Pilkington

Honestly this guy looks like such a whinger! I don't think there is one photo where he is actually smiling.
A cult celebrity due to his role in The Ricky Gervais Show, the most-downloaded podcast ever, Karl Pilkington has been accused of being a comic creation, so unburdened is he by complex thought—but that is truly just him. The trio's newest project mines Karl massive provinciality: put simply, Karl is not big on traveling. Given the choice, he'll go on vacation to Devon or Wales or, if pushed, eat English food on a package tour of the Mediterranean. So what happened when he was convinced by Gervais and Merchant to go on an epic adventure to see the Seven Wonders of the World? Does travel truly broaden the mind? Find out in Karl Pilkington's hilarious travel diaries.
This book was funny! I have not laughed so much in I don’t know how long – and believe me, I needed a laugh over the past week or so.

Karl Pilkington is a pretty big whiner, he had something to complain about at every point of his journey – not even so much as a ‘I am so fortunate, I am doing something so other normal person would be able to afford’. He just complained. CONSTANTLY! Which, did get up my nose quite a bit but his funny observations about things made up for his lack of…happiness.

And on a side note, have any of you seen the Disney cartoon The Emperor’s New Groove? Yeah? Well remember the emperor? Emperor Cusco? Cusco is a place in Peru! Did you know that? ‘Cos I didn’t - totally random side not for you there :).

My one problem with the book is the ending. It kind of just STOPPED! Suddenly! Dead end! I was there, reading along, happily smiling like an idiot, turned the page and WHAM, no more book. So yeah…

Fun read though with more than a few laugh in it.

Stephen – Karl, what would Michael Palin do in this situation?

Karl – He’d probably do a voice-over. He probably wouldn’t be here now at this stage

In My Mailbox! (7)

This is really, really, really LATE and I was considering not bothering but I couldn't do that because I am SO excited. So here goes.

First book is Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini! Andd I won this! I actually won this! I can't believe it, I never win things...

Isn't it pretty. It is so pretty.

But I have something that is even PRETTIER!

*breath in, breath out, breath in* scream and jump about with excitement.

Do you see THAT! It says Advanced Reader's Edition! This is the first ARC I have received through the post. And it is the last book of one of my most favourite series. Just look at it. I nearly cried when I opened the packet (if I'd known this was in it - kodak moment and everything - I would have been filming the grand 'opening' hehe.

SO happy!

Anyway, there is my little but of excitement over with.

Happy week everyone.

Oh, and a goodies giveaway should be going up some time this week so keep an eye out guys.

Review - Magic Lost, Trouble Found by Lisa Shearin

I LOVE this front cover. It is just so fantasy looking :)

My name is Raine Benares. I'm a seeker. The people who hire me are usually happy when I find things. But some things are better left unfound. I'm a sorceress of moderate powers, from an extended family of smugglers and thieves. With a mix of street smarts and magic spells, I can usually take care of myself. But when my friend Quentin, a not-quite-reformed thief, steals an amulet from the home of a powerful necromancer, I find myself wrapped up in more trouble than I care for. I like attention as much as the next girl, but having an army of militant goblins hunting me down is not my idea of a good time. The amulet they're after holds limitless power, derived from an ancient, soul-stealing stone. And when I take possession of the item, it takes possession of me. Now my moderate powers are increasing beyond anything I can imagine-but is the résumé enhancement worth my soul?

This was a fun read. It did take me a little while to warm up to Raine though. She struck me as trying to be too smart and ‘clever’ but I liked her once I got used to her.

Raine belongs to a family who is more often than not on the wrong side of the law but earns a living by being a 'seeker' finding things that have been lost or stolen or even people that have been kidnapped. And because of this she knows quite a few people both on the right and wring side of the law, so you can imagine that this book is filled with a wide variety of characters.

In this novel we have what I can assume is the beginning of a love triangle between Raine, the Elven Guardian Mycheal and Tam the goblin nightclub owner. *interesting* And while we are on the subject I think I may be in love with Tam…I mean dang, this guy is the bad boy of the book (I am pretty sure of this). But also there is the fact that he seems to genuinely care for Raine – maybe even love her *sigh*. And the whole bad boy thing is definitely an attraction.

Tam and I tried to have a non-emotional parting; I said we tried; we didn’t succeed. I knew I had to leave; Tam knew I had to leave, but knowing it didn’t make it any easier. Tam had a business to run. I had a stones of power to rid myself of.

In the end, words just weren’t getting the job done for Tam, so he went for action instead. I’ve been on the receiving end of some heated kisses in my time, but none of the top contenders had ever involved me being slammed against a mainmast. I have to admit I liked it. A lot.

Mmmmhmmm I BET you did!
Dang *fans self*

And then there is Mycheal…yeah, I really REALLY don’t know what to think of him (if anything). There is the attraction there but I am afraid that Tam had already stolen my heart before I could form any kind of opinion on Mycheal.

And then we have the truly evil, people-sacrificing, innocent-killing, skin crawling bad guy and a battle for the goblin throne between two royal brothers. Brilliant! And throw is a magic enhancing, souls stealing rock and you have the story.

I loved the world building that went on and the different ‘districts’ of the city where Raine lives. (goblin district, sorcerers district etc) It may seem like a bit of a cheat to do it this way but I love it. It gives the impression of China Towns in big cities. Of having separate countries within a big whole (does that make sense?).

Another fantastic aspect of this book is that it only covers a couple of days but at no point does it get boring. There is nothing but action from page one!

Raine is surrounded my colourful characters that were fun to read about and added lots of life to the story.

My one problem is that things were constantly being repeated. Raine was ALWAYS telling us that she could move things with her mind. ‘Yes, I got that the first 5 times you told me, thank you’.

Brilliant fun novel! I will absolutely be checking out the second book.

Follow Friday

It has been a little while since I last did Follow Friday so here goes.
(Click the pic to be taken to paraunkee.com to take part in Follow Friday)

This weeks questions isssss - (drum roll)

Name 3 authors that you would love to sit down and spend an hour or a meal with just talking about either their books or get advice on writing from?

Pulls Winnie the Pooh pose and taps head *think, think, think*
(Only 3...that't kinda unfair, but here goes anyway)

1. Andrea Jones - I would LOVE to talk to her about her book Hook and Jill!

2. Diana Gabladon - I think talking to her about her books would be amazing but talking about writing would be even better. She wrote her first book as 'practice' while working full time and looking after her children. Yip, I would definitely love to speak with her.

3. And last but not least Lisa Mantchev - yeah, come on you ALL knew I would be picking her :).

Who would you love to have dinner with?

Author Interview - C.A. Kunz

The wonderful duo that is Carol and Adam (C.A. Kunz) kindly agreed to answer some questions for me...

So here goes.

1. Did you write your own blurb?

Carol and Adam: Yes, we did indeed write our own blurb. After many days of trying to figure out how to sum up our entire novel into three short paragraphs (no easy task mind you), we finally settled on what you see on the back cover. We went through several edits, and too be honest we’re still not 100% satisfied with how the blurb turned out, but we are about 95%, haha!

2. What made you chose to write about a heroine opposed to a hero?

Carol and Adam: Well, to be honest, we don’t really think we were the ones who chose. Cat Colvin really just came to life as we began hammering out the details for The Childe. We had this great idea for a story, and it just so happened that our protagonist turned out to be a female. I (Adam) will say one thing though, we might have been influenced by the strong female leads in shows like Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Charmed, and Dark Angel (which were some of our favorite shows to watch together back in the day). I (Adam) think we could have easily written this story with a hero, but to be honest, I don’t think it would have been as effective. Also, I (Adam) think writing for a character of the opposite sex is a lot of fun, because you get to tap into, and connect with a part of yourself that you might not normally get to.

3. What was the first book that truly made an impact on you?

Carol:  The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. I’ve read the whole series so many times that I have lost count.  My original copies, which are over 45 years old, look absolutely ancient now. Because my dad was in the military, I moved around constantly with my family and this entire series definitely helped with the transition. They felt like old friends, and it’s what I needed to cope with my constant upheaval. J

Adam: Well, growing up I used to love reading anything about things that go bump in the night. I was a huge fan of the Goosebumps series and also the Fear Street series by R.L Stine. But if you really want to know what book had a huge impact me, I would have to say Harry Potter (I know it’s a stereotypical answer). This series single-handedly got me back into reading. For a while I put off books for school work, but once J.K. Rowling introduced Harry to the world, I was hooked, and school work took a back seat! Also, being picked to help decorate the entire Wizarding World Of Harry Potter park at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL, only further cemented my love for this series, and the impact it has had on my life and writing!

4. Was writing as a duo a sudden decision or something you fell in to?

Carol and Adam: Writing as a mother and son duo was definitely something we planned from the get-go. When Adam called me up one day and said that we’re going to write a book, he was very adamant (no pun intended). He said there was going to be no discussion about if we were going to or not going to, we just were. I giggled at how unyielding he was being. That is, until I heard the idea he had. To say the least, I (Carol) was totally sold. This idea was right up our alley in terms of genre we both loved to read/write/watch. Writing a book was something he knew I have always dreamed of doing, and because of him, my dream has come true. What a wonderful son, I am truly blessed. J

5. What were your emotions when you first held the completed, printed and bound book in your hand?

Carol: I was speechless, and in a state of awe. I walked around the house repeating, ‘we wrote a book, we wrote a book.’  I also slept with my proof copy beside my pillow for many nights. I still look at our book and can’t believe it, and the fact that we’ve almost finished the second, is even more of an awesome feeling! J

Adam: The proof copy of the book arrived at my house first, and was waiting at my front door step for me after work. I immediately tore through the box it was delivered in, and proceeded to marvel at the sight before me. I don’t think I have ever felt that excited about something before in my life, and it was truly a great feeling! I called my mom shortly after and we both squealed together on the phone. It was kind of funny really. I joked with her that I was going to wait until the weekend (it was a Wednesday) to bring it over to her, since I live 45 minutes away, and I had to work the next day. She was so mad at me (jokingly of course), because I got to hold it first. I surprised her by taking the book to her that very night, and we jumped up and down together singing, we have a book, we have a book. To say the least it was quite an emotional experience, and one that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

6. Would you describe yourself as an introvert or an extrovert?

Carol: I’d say for the first half of my life I was an introvert, shy and quiet unless around family and friends. During the second half, I have definitely turned into more of an extrovert, even more so after my accident 16 years ago, when I broke my neck and had two major surgeries. I died on the table during the second surgery, and since then I am not scared of dying, in fact I’m not really scared of anything anymore. I love to interact with everyone I meet. Making people smile by giving them smiley face pennies makes my day, and hopefully theirs as well.  J

Adam: For most of my life I have been loud and outspoken. There are times though where I can definitely be an introvert, but I live most of my life as an extrovert. I love mingling with people, and most of the time I can even easily talk in front of crowds (though I do still get a tad nervous from time to time).

7. I loved how Cat is so close to all of her friends, what made you decide to have her surrounded by such a quirky group of characters?

Carol: I think we all would love to have friends like Cat’s. I know I would have while I was growing up. As I mentioned earlier, I moved so much during my childhood, and always wished I had friends that I could’ve grown up with. Cat’s friends have so many differences, but they seem to click perfectly to me. J

Adam: We wanted Cat to be surrounded by love, and not heartbreak and sadness (like so many YA novels do these days). We wanted her story to be a tad different, and start her out with a solid foundation of friends and family, so that when things got tough, she would have people to support her and be there for her. Mom and I both hold friendship in high regard, especially since we both moved a lot as kids and had to make new friends a lot. It wasn’t until high school and college until I met my core group of friends that I keep in constant contact with. Actually, Cat’s friends are a combination of many of my closest friend’s personalities, which made writing their parts all that more fun to do. I could envision how they would interact with a character like Cat, and this made these scenes resonate highly with me, and made me feel a part of their group.

8. Did your ideas and visions for the book clash over specific sections of the book?

Carol and Adam: Of course, especially during the first book because it was all so new, and we were creating this whole world from scratch. We would list specific scenes that we clashed on here, but we don’t want to ruin them for possible readers because they are some of the bigger scenes in the first book. But we will say that we did indeed have different ideas on how things should play out during certain scenes, and how certain chapters should end, but we worked out the differences, and we believe it made our book better. When we do have disagreements though, we take a time-out, and then resume with clear heads. Most clashes are taken care of very quickly because we have such a great rapport with one another, and we actually talk it out. Fortunately for us, we didn’t disagree on the whole book, because if we had, we’d probably still be working on it haha!

9. Any ideas for a future series?

Carol and Adam: Well, we have four more books planned for The Childe series (five total), with the second one almost finished. We do, however, have a few ideas for other books that we intend to pursue after wrapping up Cat’s adventure. They will all be geared toward the YA crowd, since we have so much fun writing for this age group! Unfortunately, these titles are way too early in development to actually give any details about them.

10. If you could walk in one of your characters shoes for a day who would it be?

Carol: Cat, definitely. I was the complete opposite to her when I was in high school. I absolutely love her confidence, and how strong she is.J

Adam: I would have to say Jewels (weird, I know!). The reason being is because who doesn’t want to experience the world through an animal’s eyes at least once in their lifetime. I think it would be great to be a Cat that can come and go as they please, nap whenever, and get taken care of! Not to mention all the things Cats can do. I’m just saying it would be neat to be a Cat for at least a day.

Thank you Carol and Adam for taking the time to answer some of my more random questions :).

I can't wait to continue reading Cat's story in books 2!

Emily Goes to Exeter by M.C.Beaton

A dead employer's legacy of five thousand pounds allows spinster Hannah Pym to resign from housekeeping and find adventure travelling the English countryside by stagecoach.

But adventure soon finds Miss Pym in the form of Miss Emily Freemantle, a spoilt violet-eyed beauty fleeing an arranged marriage to a rake she has never met.

This is the first novel in the Travelling Matchmaker series by M.C.Beaton and I really enjoyed it.

It is not an overly complicated romance with nothing serious and deep happening and it probably sits at a level between a Mills and Boon romance and a Barbara Cartland book.

Hannah Pym has always wanted to travel and when her employer dies and leaves her with £5,000 (which according to one site I looked at would be about £5 million in today’s money). And so, the first thing she does is buy herself a ticket on the coach to Exeter. And so her adventure begins.

Hannah does strike me as being a little too pushy, so sure that she know what is best. This is fun to read and I do like her but I think that if I were in the receiving end of her matchmaking I wouldn’t be too blunt about telling her to mind her own business.

Emily (our secondary heroine) is a bit of a drip/ In good old shallow romances tradition she has fallen in ‘love’ with a man because of his looks and has ran away from home to escape the marriage that her parents had arranged for her.

That being said Emily does lose her shallowness and becomes a better person by the end of the book.

Lord Harley is once again your typical 30 odd regency bachelor who has suddenly realised that a few heirs wouldn’t go amiss and of course starts viewing Emily as a spoiled child (*cough* which she is).

The surrounding characters and background romance added a great level to the story as did that not so mysterious mystery.

Brilliant fun read!

Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon

Yip, I realise this isn't a book. But I felt like having a little blether about Transformers :)
*maybe a few  spoilers*

So, anyone else a sci-fi nerd.

I am not REALLY a nerd NERD as I can take or leave a sci-fi book but I have a really big weakness for sci-fi films. Star Trek (I love the TV series' - my mum is a treky 'nuf said;)), Planet of the Apes, Star Wars and, more recently Transformer *sings* ROBOTS IN DISGUISE ;)

And oh my goodness! The third film was AMAZING!

I didn't get too excited about going to see it as I got really hyper about seeing the 2nd one and I thought it was a bit of a let down. The storyline seemed so random and suddenly bringing Megatron back to life (when he was supposed to have been crushed beyond all hope) seemed  little bit weak.

And get this.

             Guess who this is?

It's SPOCK!!!!!! Kinda looked like him at bits too. And this transformer had a dreadlock-y beard. Cool!

And this may be a tad strange but I have a serious crush on Optimus Prime.

DEEP VOICE : Taking the children was a bad idea.

I sobbed like nothing else when he 'died' in the second film. I was like 'What...what...what...SAM I HATE YOU! *SOB*'

While we are on the subject of Sam I am totally not surprised that Mikaela left him. I think I would have left him. In the first and second film I found his attitude grating, in this film it was down-right  irritating. And I have never really forgiven him for his attitude to Bumblebee in the second film. Sam treated him like a dog! What was that about. Twit!

And now his attitude has totally done a 180! Remember how in Revenge of the Fallen he was basically wanting nothing to do with the issues going on. Yeah, well, he has has a reality check and seems to have decided that being an alien ambassador isn't actually such a bad gig (shame no one is taking him seriously though *laughs*).

There are some funky new auto-bots that pop up (while some mysteriously disappear - why do they do that!) and Wheelie is BACK! I am so glad they put him in this film, I loved him!

Artemis Fowl #1 by Eoin Colfer

Twelve-year-old Artemis Fowl is a millionaire, a genius—and, above all, a criminal mastermind. But even Artemis doesn’t know what he’s taken on when he kidnaps a fairy, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon Unit.

These aren’t the fairies of bedtime stories; these fairies are armed and dangerous.

Artemis thinks he has them right where he wants them…but then they stop playing by the rules.

I finished this over a week ago and didn’t jump straight into writing a review because I wasn’t sure what to make of it…and I am still a little stuck over what I think…and I can’t really think of anything mind blowing to say about it…

Well…it’s not that I don’t like the story, it is what I think of Artemis Fowl himself that is my hiccup. Maybe if I keep reading the series this will change but right now I don’t like him. He was far too cocky and full of himself for my liking. I just wanted someone to chop him down to size.

It was the other characters that made this book worth the read for me. The Elves and fae characters mostly. I loved this take on things, and the way that the leprechaun mythology was tied into the story.

This was a fun read, even if I didn’t like the main character ;)

The Forest of Adventure by Katie M John

Yay, another this-was-pretty-good.

There was a little bit for everyone in this – even a tad of time travel – and I am a pushover for Arthurian legend (although I HATE Lancelot – but that is just a personal preference and has nothing to do with this book).

So, this had been on my Kindle wish-list for a few weeks, but I kept putting it off and putting it off…aaaaaand putting it off. Until I finally got it.  And I am so glad I did! It was a great read and I can’t wait for the second book to be released (because we got left with one heck of a cliffie).

Want to know what I LOVED about this book. It wasn’t painfully predictable and at no point did my eyes glaze over and everyones actions were believable. And who doesn’t love reading a book about knights in shingin armour who are willing to have a good old steel on steel fight for you – sure it could end in death or severe loss of limbs but you have to admit, it is pretty darn flattering.

My heart went out to Sam. His feelings for Mina for so clear for everyone to see that I thought my heart was going to break at how hurt he was by the circumstances that were out of all their hands.

Another great aspect of this book is that on top of all of the magical stuff that is happening there are real life issues that are being dealt with and Mina doesn't abandon her friends and is still there for them.

This book is just not straight forward fairy stuff though, we have ties in with Lancelot, Merlin, King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake. How much funkier can you get? Yeah, you can't really....

This was by turns heartbreaking and magical. I would recommend this read to anyone. I cannot wait to get stuck into book 2!

Top Ten Tuesday - Ten Authors I Would DIE to Meet

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature that can be found (every Tuesday) at The Broke and the Bookish

1. Charlotte Bronte - I have loved Jane Eyre for as long as I can remember and I would have a fit of the vapours to have a conversation with Charlotte Bronte (needless to say THAT won't be happening). I would love to ask her if she was happy in her marriage.

2. Charles Dickens - mainly just to ask him what exactly his feelings where for his young sister-in-law. And also to hit him for not having Esther marry Mr Jaundice in Bleak House - I LOVED him.

3. Diana Gabaldon - the author of the Outlander books (although I have only really just discovered this series I am loving the books). I think she would be a fascinating person to sit down and talk too, she must have so much information about all sorts in her head...

4. Andrea Jones - the author of one of my favourite books Hook and Jill which is a love story between Wendy (AKA Red Handed Jill) and Captain James Hook. It is a brilliant read with a really funky rugged page design to it.

5. Wen Spencer - the author of 2 more of my favourite books Tinker and Wolf Who Rules. These books are great fun and come at the idea of elves from a totally different angle...and planet.

6. Lisa Mantchev -need I say more. From reading the Theatre Illuminata series and her blog I think she must be such a fun person.

7. Tamora Pierce - she writes books with fantastically strong female leads, who know their own minds and more often than not go against convention to follow their heart.

Sorry guys, I am glaring at my book case and  I am not being hit by any inspiration...

If I think of 3 more I'll add them post-haste :)

Do you have 10 authors you would die to meet?

IMM can be found over at The Story Siren

So, I admit I went a bit over board with the books but it was The Works fault. Really it was. They shouldn't have such pretty books for such cheap prices...

Show and tell time :)

I love EBAY!

These were ordered from my local Waterstones about a month ago and they finally arrived and I picked them up today :)

Bought these at a second hand shop while I was on holiday. I have been looking for  Daddy Long Legs for years and TADA. I've now got it.

And this was me going crazy at my local  The Works. ..yeah I went crazy. But £12 guys.... £12...

That't everything. I am so glad to have the rest of the Laurie R Kings books...well the next few anyway, I still have some gaps to fill in. :)
